Dr. Benjamin Lin BSc, DDS, FRCD(C), Dipl.ABOMS
  Dr. Benjamin Lin was born in Toronto and raised in Pickering. He began his training at the University of Toronto, completing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology with High Distinction in 1999.
 
  During dental school at the University of Toronto, Dr. Lin was awarded the CDSA scholarship for most outstanding student in the subjects of Medicine and Oral Medicine as well as the Dr. John A. Sherman Prize for academics, extra-curricular activities, character and leadership. Dr. Lin also conducted research at the Faculty of Dentistry, published in the journal Biomaterials, was awarded the Tau Tau Undergraduate Research Award for best research paper, and was selected to present the results at the International Association of Dental Research annual meeting in San Diego in 2002. Dr. Lin obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with Honours in 2003.
 
  Dr. Lin then pursued post-graduate studies in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his residency, he completed clinical rotations on anaesthesiology, internal medicine, general surgery, surgical oncology, neurosurgery, ICU, trauma surgery and plastic surgery at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Jesse Brown Veterans Administration hospital and Stroger County hospital, formerly known as Cook County Hospital. Dr. Lin also presented table clinics at the Chicago Dental Society's annual Midwinter Meetings. In 2006, Dr. Lin was recognized for his volunteer work while on a medical mission to Comitan, Mexico to perform cleft lip and palate surgery. As chief resident in 2007, he was the primary surgeon on numerous implant, reconstruction, trauma, pathology, TMJ, and orthognathic cases.
 
  After completing his residency training and successfully passing the fellowship examination in 2007, Dr. Lin became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, thus certifying him as a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is also board certified in the United States, having successfully completed the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009 and achieving Diplomate status.
 
  He is an Associate in Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and an oral examiner for their post-graduate residency program. Dr. Lin is on staff at Mt. Sinai Hospital and MacKenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital.
